These pictures are from my training flights that I had with an Airborne FAC. The purpose of the flights was teach me how to be able to relay up to the aircraft overhead the correct information from the ground for their bombing runs.

Below are pictures of the plane I was trained in.

These pictures are taken from the O1e Bird Dog while I was being trained to be able to call an air strike from the ground.  What this training enabled me to do was describe accurately what and where the correct target was and to understand how to properly mark the target with smoke or flairs if at night using hopefully 2 each - one at each end of the target.  A lot of the time I did not get the opportunity to mark it but with a single smoke or flair and had to call off miss aimed aircraft.  Then there were the times that I had to verbally direct the air strike with no marking of the target.

Below while on a training mission we were headed out to the mountains and while in route we came across a series B-52 bomb tracks that had just been completed.  This ended up being in Laos or Cambodia, I am not sure now.

This is one of the Korean O1e Bird Dogs that was kept at RoK HQ on a make shift dirt strip.  The Koreans had 3 planes while I was there and there were two OD Green and one Silver.
